... more about the history and development of Restoration Therapy

RT is a Therapeutic Model that has evolved in the last decade out of the tradition of Contextual Family Therapy. It has been developed into a structured and organised process by Dr Terry Hargrave (PHD) in the USA and now has a growing number of practitioners globally who incorporate the techniques and interventions into their practices. This workshop is intended to provide a practical overview to participants who want to begin to develop proficiency in this very effective model.

The model identifies a client’s identity and safety patterns, while empowering client emotional regulation and mindfulness for behavioural change. RT combines the benefits of Attachment Theory, Emotional Regulation and Mindfulness in an efficient and organized fashion that allows both the therapist and client to understand old destructive patterns of behaviour and promote change.

One of the main advantages of RT is its approach provides the therapist with a clear understanding of how violations of love and trustworthiness develop into problems of identity and safety, which in turn manifest as maladaptive behaviours. This keeps the therapist organised and focused on patterns difficult for clients to change. As the therapist makes these identity and safety patterns known, clients can be helped to understand the maladaptive choices they make as attempts to cope and can then learn how to make more thoughtful and informed choices about self and relationships, which in turn can result in long lasting behavioural change.

Fantastic learning today - Can't wait to practice.
Succinct, to the point, no waffle, clear to grasp and understand. Role plays well demonstrated and taught with time-outs to explain.
An incredibly deep, personal, connective therapy that can and will be a ground breaking tool for deep seated trauma.
Thank you for an informative, thought provoking seminar.
